  1. Well, this is one of the weird ones. As a Bantam, this is the one with the same cover as The South Pole Terror featuring Doc against a snowy background. Fitting for this strange tale which is set in ARIZONA!! I don’t really know how to describe this one. The writing is terrible! But the mystery is irristable. Doc actually falls prey to one of Monk’s practical jokes! Also it’s one of the shorter novels and Doc/crew barely appear until about 40 pages in! The resolution is dull which is also rare and it seems to work itself out on it’s own with little input from Doc and the boys. STRANGE ONE FOR SURE!!

  2. I really liked this book. I found it very smooth reading, and because the mystery was so intriguing, I didn’t notice whether the writing was good or not. So it must have been good enough. The cover sort of works… one could imagine the background as a big waterfall, which is part of the story… but I wish they had created a unique cover with a southwest motif, since it takes place in AZ. The end was sort of choppy, but I still loved this book. I guess I like all the really WEiRd Docs.
