Oct 1 2025: Shane Black on the status of his Doc Savage film

“We have a script, but part of it, I love Doc Savage and I think we have a good script. It’s very expensive.

And the thing about Doc Savage, I mean, if you ask your viewers, because I know it, do kids today know it?

Are people willing to spend the money it would take to bring ‘Doc Savage’ to the screen on an IP that is less recognizable to the American public or public in general?

I mean, it was the original right? I mean, Doc Savage was named Clark, and he was a super man; then, they had a Superman named Clark after that. So this was the OG. ‘Doc Savage’ was the original.”

Doc was the precursor of all modern day fiction superheroes that resuted in a multi-billion dollar history and changed filmmaking forever. There must be a movie made, an excellant one unlike George Pal’s effort that went off in a poor direcition. Get these studios together for a multi-studio production. Conde Nast would make tons of money! But Shane Black must direct!
