I won’t give a major review here: just say that I thought the stories in this particular omnibus were fairly weak and this is one of the weak ones. It had its moments of humor, but mostly, I wouldn’t recommend it.

This was by far THE WORST Doc Savage story I have ever read. It consists almost entirely of boring dialogue. It is like an episode of “Murder She Wrote,” only less exciting! No action, no traveling, hardly any gadgets and gizmos…not much of anything. Doc is like a cardboard image of himself, reciting boring dialogue. There is absolutely none of Doc’s usual intensity or dynamic personality. There is almost no descriptive writing in this story. Just terrible. A wasted 98 pages in Omnibus 3.
