This is one that could have been a lot better. The idea behind it is pretty spectacular, but the execution of the novel ends up pretty mundane. It does have the distinction of being one of the few stories in the series where Doc himself is succesfully kidnapped. This one would probably have served better as one of the longer novels, as the resolution seems entirely too rushed and the characters and background elements of the plot are not fully fleshed out.
